Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer

Dave, co-founder of Highland Medical Staffing, is a former traveling RN who identified a need for skilled, dedicated nurses to support facilities in Iowa and nationwide. With over a decade of nursing experience in hospice, medical/surgical, orthopedics, and oncology, he guided Highland Medical Group to its initial JCAHO certification in 2018. Known as a transparent and motivated leader, Dave fosters an environment of integrity and unity. He earned his BSN from Grand View University and, in his free time, enjoys family life on a hobby farm, camping, golf, and serving as president of the local school board.

Angie Healy

Corporate Controller

Angie joined Highland Medical Staffing as Corporate Controller in June 2022. Before HMS, she worked over a decade in public accounting as a CPA, specializing in tax, payroll, and bookkeeping for individuals and businesses. Angie manages payroll, invoicing, and other financial duties and appreciates supporting a focused group. She holds a bachelor’s in Accounting with a Spanish minor from the University of Iowa and completed her CPA exams within a year. Angie is a member of the Iowa Society of CPAs and AICPA. In her free time, she enjoys making memories with her family, traveling, good food, and staying active.

Amy Minnihan

Credentialing Specialist

Amy started with Highland Medical Staffing in October 2022. Prior to starting with HMS, she served as the Senior Administrative Assistant for a large specialty clinic supporting the Chief Operating Officer and Clinics Directors. Additionally, she has worked for many years as a credentialing specialist and supported the Chief Nursing Officer for a community hospital. She is passionate when working with people in the community and loves helping others. Amy enjoys spending time with her husband and three children, attending their kids' sporting events and taking care of all their farm animals. She hopes to travel more and build memories with her family.

Monica Fitzgibbon

Administrative Support Specialist

When Monica is not working, she enjoys spending time with her son and pets. She prefers to be outside biking, hiking, camping, fishing and all things outdoors related. She recently moved onto a tiny farm and looks forward to life in the country. Her family loves to grow their own food and raise chickens. She also enjoys woodworking and learning new skills.

Katie Palmer

Co-Founder & Chief Nursing Officer

Katie is a co-founder of Highland Medical Group, bringing 15 years of nursing experience in emergency medicine, critical care, telemetry, medical/surgical, and home health. As CNO, she was instrumental in achieving Highland’s initial JCAHO certification in 2018. Katie also leads staff education, in-service coordination, professional development, recruitment, scheduling, and credentialing. She earned her BSN from Grandview University in Des Moines, IA. In her spare time, Katie volunteers with the Cedar Highland 4-H group and St. Columbkille Catholic Church in Churdan, IA. Clients describe her as highly engaged and skilled in emergency nursing.

Manager of Strategic Partnerships, Julie Palmer
Julie Palmer

Manager of Strategic Partnerships

Julie Palmer started at Highland Medical Group as Manager of Strategic Partnerships in August of 2021. Julie is a speech-language pathologist with more than 15 years of experience and over 10 years in management. In addition to working at Highland, Julie owns a company specializing in helping children with literacy disorders. Julie graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Northern Iowa. She obtained her master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Julie loves watching football and is a big fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and the Drake Bulldogs. Julie’s son currently plays football for Drake University and her daughter attends the University of Nebraska. Julie also enjoys spending time outdoors; specifically on the beach! She loves helping and developing others and is excited to be a part of the Highland Medical Staffing Team.

Digital Media Specialist, Rachel Johnson

Digital Media Specialist

Rachel is responsible for creating compelling graphic content across all web, media and internal platforms. With her love of animals, Rachel initially studied Animal Science and made plans to become a veterinarian. However, she always loved digital design & her creative side soon found her successfully completing freelance multi-media design projects for Iowa/Midwestern businesses. Rachel has a strong passion for working personally with companies to improve & grow their online presence. In addition to digital work, Rachel lives on a century farm & spends time assisting with the farm operations wherever she can. She often finds her spare time consists of watching sports, keeping up with the latest trends, riding her horses, & organic-gardening alongside her ducks.

Sherrie Faith

Vascular Access Specialist

Sherrie Faith began her nursing career after completing a diploma program at St. Luke’s School of Nursing in 1996. She worked as an RN in long-term care, post-surgical, and charge nurse roles before joining St. Luke’s infusion center in 2005. There, Sherrie earned her chemotherapy certification and trained in PICC and midline insertions, assisting with bronchoscopies, various infusions, injections, and minor procedures. Over her 20-year tenure, she cross-trained in interventional radiology, trauma registry, urgent care, pre-anesthesia testing, PACU, and as a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. She also served on several committees and managed the infusion center’s work queue. Sherrie earned her BSN from Briar Cliff University in 2006 and taught clinicals at her alma mater and Western Iowa Tech. She joined Highland Medical Staffing in 2020, initially working in drive-through COVID tents and now staffing Spencer Hospital’s infusion center, SDS, and med/surg units. Sherrie is thrilled to be a full-time employee with Highland Medical Staffing and Highland Vascular Solutions.

COO, Greg Opseth
Greg Opseth

Chief Operating Officer

Greg Opseth joined Highland Medical Group as COO in April 2021, bringing nearly a decade of healthcare leadership experience. Previously the CNO at Guthrie County Hospital, he launched a shared governance platform and led his team to achieve top HCAHPS scores in four categories. Opseth also implemented new staffing structures and unique recognition programs for nurses and CNAs. He serves on the boards of Nebraska Methodist College, the Iowa Organization for Nursing Leadership, the Iowa Nurses Association, and the Iowa Nurses Foundation, and he’s a member of the ANA and AONL. Opseth holds degrees in psychology, nursing, and healthcare administration. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and 2 kids, and visiting MLB stadiums—having checked off 11 of 30 so far.

Josie Ealy

Manager of Strategic Partnerships

Josie Ealy started at Highland Medical Group in 2022 as a PRN travel nurse. She moved into the role of Manager of Strategic partnerships in September of 2024. Josie is a Registered Nurse with seven years of experience in the emergency department and travel experience in the Midwest. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Josie recently got married and took her honeymoon in Greece and Italy. She enjoys traveling and spending time outdoors. Josie has a labradoodle named Tucker which she loves to take for walks. She is excited to work with the nurses and bring her experience of traveling in healthcare forward.

Alan Faith

Director of Growth & Engagement

Alan is an esteemed registered nurse with over two decades of experience across critical care, flight nursing, burn unit, disaster management, trauma program management, sepsis program development, injury prevention, leadership, and stroke program development. Graduating with honors from both Allen College and Western Iowa Tech Community College, Faith has been recognized with prestigious accolades such as the 2017 Iowa Hospital Hero and the Citizenship Award from Hinton EMS for his exceptional contributions to healthcare and EMS education in and around the Siouxland Area. He is an accomplished speaker, haven spoke at regional and national healthcare conferences, advocating for continuous improvement within the healthcare environment.

Heather Addy

Vascular Access Specialist

Heather has been an active nurse since earning her degree in 2002. She has vast experience in many facets of nursing. In 2009, she discovered her love for infusion therapy and vascular access and validated her knowledge and skills by becoming certified in infusion therapy (CRNI) as well as board-certified in vascular access (VA-BC). Heather has been a vascular access specialist for more than 12 years as well as a member of the Infusion Nurses Society, the Association for Vascular Access, and a former president of the Iowa Nebraska Vascular Access Network. In 2017, she began working as a mobile vascular access specialist. In addition, she shares her knowledge by creating and teaching continuing education to front-line nurses. She has done clinical education for pharmaceutical companies, community colleges and has created learning content for many healthcare facilities. In her free time Heather enjoys spending time with her family, listening to audio books and soaking up the warm sun any chance she gets.
